Iran claims to have downed 10 Israeli aircraft within one hour across various regions of the country, according to Brigadier General Alireza Sabahi-Fard, commander of Iran’s air defence forces, reports SAMAA.
According to Iranian media reports, Israel launched cruise missile attacks on Tehran, as well as on the cities of Tabriz and Bandar Abbas.
Iranian defence systems reportedly intercepted and targeted the incoming Israeli missiles.
However, no official response has yet been received from Israel regarding this claim. Various international organizations are also working to verify Iran's assertion.
Analysts believe that if Iran's claim proves to be true, it could escalate the ongoing tensions in the Middle East several notches higher and potentially take the Israel-Iran conflict in a new direction.
