Indian authorities are conducting civil defense security drills on Wednesday, reports CNN.
The authorities made the move hours after India launched military strikes on targets in Pakistan and its retaliatory actions against the country.
However, the drills had been planned before the strikes. In an order from the home ministry not seen in decades, the Indian government had ordered them to be carried out in all states and union territories.
According to official statements posted on X, 244 locations will be included in the drills that will include the sounding of emergency sirens, evacuation procedures and blackouts.
