Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday night warned that Pakistan reserved every right to give a “befitting response” following India’s missile strikes on Pakistani territory, reports Associated Press of Pakistan (APP).
“The enemy has carried out a cowardly attack at five locations in Pakistan, and we are ready to give a befitting response to this act of war imposed on us,” the prime minister said in a statement issued by the PM Office.
He emphasized that the nation stood united behind its armed forces with unwavering morale and determination.
“Our nation and armed forces are undeterred in the face of the enemy,” he said. “Pakistan will not allow its enemy to succeed in its nefarious objectives.”
According to security sources, Indian aircraft launched missile attacks from within their airspace, targeting five locations in Pakistan: Kotli, Muzaffarabad, Bagh, Ahmad Pur Sharqia, and Muridke.
The strikes killed a child and injured two civilians, including a woman.
Prime Minister Sharif’s strong response comes amid rising regional tensions, with Islamabad condemning the assault as an unprovoked act of aggression.
