Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi arrived in Islamabad on Sunday night, to discuss strengthening bilateral relations with Pakistan and to highlight the significance of Iran’s ties with India. Speaking to reporters at Islamabad International Airport, Araqchi noted that the relationship between Iran and Pakistan is of great importance, as are Tehran’s ties with other regional powers, including India, reports IRNA.
Araqchi emphasized that the situation in the region is critical for Iran’s strategic interests and that Tehran is committed to reducing tensions. “We urge all parties to show restraint and prevent escalation,” he added, reinforcing Iran’s desire for regional stability.
During his visit, Araqchi is expected to engage in discussions on a variety of issues, from economic cooperation to security matters, with Pakistani officials. The Foreign Minister also stressed that Iran aims to foster closer cooperation with Pakistan, working to improve the trajectory of their bilateral relations and addressing broader regional challenges.
As Tehran continues to navigate complex regional dynamics, Araqchi’s visit underscores Iran’s ongoing diplomatic efforts to enhance stability in the Middle East and South Asia.
