Israel’s military has confirmed that a missile launched from Yemen hit near the Ben Gurion airport on Sunday, reports Al Jazeera.
According to The Times of Israel, the missile struck a grove within the airport complex. Several people have sustained injuries, according to Israeli media reports.
Photos and footage verified by Al Jazeera show damage near Ben Gurion airport, including to a road structure and a vehicle, reportedly struck by falling metal rods.
Israel Hayom newspaper reports that all entrances are closed to the airport, which Israeli police have urged the public to stay away from.
Earlier, Ruters reported that, a missile launched from Yemen towards Israel on Sunday landed near Ben Gurion Airport, the country's main international airport, where footage shared on social media showed a plume of smoke visible from a passenger terminal.
The Israeli military said it was investigating the fall of a projectile launched from Yemen, which landed in the vicinity of the airport.
