BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman has congratulated Mark Carney as he won Canada’s national election dominated by United States President Donald Trump’s trade war and annexation threats.
In his post, Tarique Rahman congratulated Mark Carney and his Liberal Party for the victory in the national election.
“The people of Bangladesh and Canada share democratic values and common interests and I look forward to working with you to strengthen the partnership between our two nations. Together, let us promote rules-based international order, economic liberalisation and deepen our multifaceted ties,” Tarique wrote on his X formerly Twitter.
Prime Minister Mark Carney, who campaigned on defending Canada against Trump’s threats, led the Liberals to a fourth consecutive term.
The victory marks a stunning turnaround for a party that was recently headed for a crushing defeat by the Conservatives.
