Gold prices in Bangladesh have increased again, with the latest adjustment raising the price of 22-carat gold by Tk6,590 per bhori.
According to a press release issued by the Bangladesh Jeweller’s Association (BAJUS) on Wednesday, the new price of 22-carat gold has been set at Tk252,409 per bhori (11.664 grams).
The revised rates came into effect from 10:00am the same day, the release said.
BAJUS said the adjustment was made in response to a rise in the price of pure (tejabi) gold in the local market, taking the overall market situation into consideration.
Under the new pricing structure, 21-carat gold is being sold at Tk240,920 per bhori, while 18-carat gold is priced at Tk206,511 per bhori. Gold produced under the traditional method has been fixed at Tk168,195 per bhori.
Meanwhile, silver prices have also increased. The price of 22-carat silver now stands at Tk5,890 per bhori, while 21-carat, 18-carat and traditional silver are priced at Tk5,599, Tk4,782 and Tk3,616 respectively.
