The United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) arranged a business matching event and a seminar in cooperation with the Bangladesh Embassy in Tokyo and Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) on Tuesday in Tokyo.
Principal Secretary M Siraz Uddin Miah attended the seminar as Chief Guest.
The principal secretary mentioned that the Bangladesh government is committed to improve the investment climate through a number of reform measures recently initiated.
He urged the Japanese entrepreneurs to bring in FDI in various prospective sectors of Bangladesh.
The event was attended by a twelve member business delegation from Bangladesh and 67 representatives from 58 Japanese companies who have interest in business and investment opportunities in Bangladesh.
Director General of BIDA Ariful Hoque gave a presentation on the latest information on the investment climate and opportunities in Bangladesh, followed by Country Representative of the JETRO Dhaka Yuji Ando presenting on the business opportunities and challenges from the Japanese perspective.
After the seminar, the Delegates and participants engaged in lively exchanges to discuss further enhancement of business between Bangladesh and Japan.
