Jewellers reduced gold prices for the third consecutive day on Thursday, in keeping with the continued decreases in the country’s bullion market, and revised prices for the eighth time this month.
Since Tuesday, prices of the precious metal have fallen by nearly Tk5,870 per bhori to Tk1,13,560 per bhori (11.664 grams) with the latest decrease being Tk640 on Thursday afternoon.
The standing committee on pricing and price monitoring at Bangladesh Jeweller’s Association (BAJUS) announced the latest reduction at a meeting on Thursday, reports The Daily Sun.
The price of 22-carat gold will now be Tk9,736 per gram, price of 21-carat Tk9,294 per gram, price of 18-carat Tk7,966 per gram and traditional gold Tk6,413 a gram.
The price of 22-carat silver is Tk180 per gram, 21-carat silver is Tk172 per gram, 18-carat silver is Tk147 per gram and traditional silver is Tk110 per gram.
