Northern University Bangladesh (NUB) has launched the Intra-Department NUB CSE Six-a-Side Cricket Tournament 2026 with a trophy unveiling ceremony held on Wednesday at the NUB Courtyard.
The tournament is organized by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering under the initiative of the NUB Computer Club (NUBCC).
Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Mizanur Rahman attended the event as the chief guest and formally unveiled the trophy.
In his remarks, he highlighted the importance of extracurricular activities in promoting discipline, teamwork, and sportsmanship among students, while assuring full administrative support for the tournament.
Senior university officials, including the Treasurer, Registrar, Head of the CSE Department, and other administrators, along with faculty members and representatives of the NUB Computer Club, were present at the ceremony.
According to the organizers, the main matches will be held on April 23 and 24, at Biman Field, Ashkona, near Haji Camp. A total of 12 teams comprising students and teachers from the CSE Department will participate in the six-a-side tournament.
The champion team will receive BDT 8,000 along with a trophy and medals, while the runners-up team will receive BDT 5,000 with trophies and medals. The tournament aims to strengthen camaraderie and encourage healthy competition among participants.
