Former lawmaker from Dhaka-11 and Awami League leader freedom fighter AKM Rahmatullah has passed away.
He died while undergoing treatment at a hospital in the capital at around 3:45 am on Wednesday.
Rahmatullah was 76.
His nephew Faruk Hossain confirmed the death.
After the news of his passing, his body was taken from the hospital to his residence in Beraid, Badda.
His funeral prayer will be held at Beraid Field at 4:00 pm on Wednesday. He will be laid to rest at the Beraid Graveyard.
AKM Rahmatullah was elected a member of parliament five times. He also served as president of the Dhaka North unit of the Awami League.
