Professor Sakhawat Ali Khan, a pioneer of journalism education in Bangladesh, has passed away, family members said.
He died at a hospital in the capital on Sunday (March 8) night.
He was 85.
The family said Professor Sakhawat Ali Khan suffered a stroke a few days ago and received treatment in a hospital before returning home.
He fell ill again on Sunday night and was taken to hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
Professor Sakhawat Ali Khan retired from the Department of Mass Communication and Journalism in 2008, and later worked there for five years as a supernumerary professor.
