The government has canceled the remaining tenure of the contractual appointment of Sheikh Md Sazzat Ali as commissioner of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP).
A notification (Gazette ) issued by the Ministry of Public Administration on Sunday (March 1) confirmed the decision. Sazzat Ali had earlier submitted his resignation from the post.
According to the notification, the ministry revoked the remainder of his contract — originally issued on November 20, 2024 — in response to his application.
The interim government had appointed Sazzat Ali as DMP commissioner on a two-year contractual basis on November 20, 2024.
