Ten units of the Fire Service and Civil Defence are working to bring a fire under control at a wood shop in the capital’s Karwan Bazar.
The blaze broke out at around 10:30pm on Monday, according to local and fire service sources.
Shahjahan Hossain, duty officer at the Fire Service and Civil Defence headquarters, said 10 units were dispatched immediately after the incident was reported and are continuing efforts to douse the flames.
He said no information was immediately available regarding the cause of the fire or any casualties. Firefighters are still working to fully extinguish the blaze.
