In the 13th National Parliament Election, minority women in Dinajpur cast their votes fearlessly and without any hindrance by donning red vermilion in their heads and red Tips on their foreheads.
From Thursday morning onwards, minority Hindu and tribal women appeared at various polling stations and cast their votes spontaneously.
95-year-old minority woman Deepali Kundu expressed her joy by casting her vote. Deepali Kundu, wife of the late Swapan Kumar Deb of Paharpur Mohalla in the city, said to reporters, "Listen boys, I voted after a long time. I feel very happy. This time there is no fear or obstacle."
At the same center, Shobharani Deb (24), a new generation voter, cast her vote for the first time in a peaceful environment and expressed her joy by saying, "I feel very good. This time I feel like a citizen of Bangladesh. My country is Sonar Bangladesh."
Presiding officer of Chehelgazi Union Parishad Center of Gopalganj Sadar Upazila Md. Raqikul Hasan said, “Since Thursday morning, minority voters have been coming to the center and voting spontaneously. No fear was observed among them.”
Voting at the Chehelgazi Government Primary School center, Jhantu Chandra Roy said, "After a long 17 years, I voted without any obstacles and fear. Earlier, minorities were intimidated. But this time there is no fear."
Jharna Rani Karmakar said, "After a long 17 years, I voted without any obstacles or fear. We thank the army, RAB, police and administration. Let the army be on the field in every vote, and then we will no longer be afraid.”
