Three people were killed when a fire erupted in a residential building in Uttara, Dhaka, early Friday morning.
According to the Fire Service and Civil Defence, the blaze started on the second floor of a seven-storey building in Sector 11.
Two firefighting units arrived at the scene within eight minutes of receiving the alert. The fire was brought under control by 8:25 a.m. and completely extinguished by 10 a.m., said Fire Service official Talha Bin Jasim.
Firefighters recovered the bodies of three victims from the building. The identities of the deceased were not immediately released.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation. Authorities have not confirmed whether the fire originated from electrical faults, cooking equipment, or other sources.
