Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan on Tuesday expressed deep shock and sorrow over the death of former Prime Minister and Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia.
In a condolence message, he highlighted her lifelong dedication to the welfare of the country and its people.
"Her relentless struggle for the establishment of democracy and the protection of people’s rights will guide future generations for years to come. As the first female Prime Minister of Bangladesh, she served the nation with distinction and always stood by the common people. Her unique contributions will be remembered forever," the Vice-Chancellor said.
Dr. Khan prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed his heartfelt sympathy to her bereaved family.
