A fire broke out on Saturday afternoon on the ninth floor of a 10-storey commercial building in the capital’s Segunbagicha area. According to the Fire Service and Civil Defence, the incident was reported at 3:04pm, and the first unit from the Siddikbazar Fire Station arrived on the scene at 3:14pm.
Five firefighting units from the station were deployed to tackle the blaze, which was successfully brought under control by 3:30pm, preventing it from spreading to other floors. No casualties or injuries have been reported so far.
Fire Service officials said an investigation is underway to determine the cause of the fire.
