A fire that broke out at a cotton warehouse in the Tongi Mill Gate area of Gazipur late Friday night has been brought under control, officials said, reports UNB.
The blaze started around 11:45 p.m., and seven units of the Fire Service and Civil Defence worked for nearly two hours before bringing it under control at about 1:30 a.m., said Shahin Alam, Senior Station Officer of the Tongi Fire Service.
No casualties were reported immediately. The cause of the fire and the extent of the damage are yet to be determined.
“The actual losses will be known after an investigation,” Station Officer Shahin added.
