The fire that raged out through a chemical warehouse in Wari area of Old Dhaka was brought under control after two hours of frantic efforts on Wednesday morning.
Talha-Bin-Zashim, station officer (media officer) of Fire Service and Civil Defence (FSCD) headquarters, said the fire broke out in the chemical godown on the third floor of a 12-storey building at Hatkhola Road in Wari area around 5:00 am.
On information, a firefighting unit rushed to the spot around 5:07 am and later five more units joined it, he said, adding that the fire was brought under control at 7:00 am.
The cause of the fire is yet to be known while no casualty was reported, the FSCD officer added.
