Dhanmondi Ideal College students are protesting by blocking Science Lab intersection in the capital over the death of a classmate in a road accident. The students blocked Science Lab intersection after 1 pm on Sunday
The students said that a proper investigation into the murder of a classmate should be conducted and the culprits should be brought to justice. They were forced to block the road as they did not get justice for the murder of their classmate.
A sit-in program and protest march were held in front of Concord Tower from 12 noon on Sunday by the students demanding justice for the murder of their classmate.
Later, the protest march, initiated by the college students, went from Science Lab intersection to Katabon and Nilkhet intersection and took up position again at Science Lab intersection. Due to this, traffic on one side of Science Lab intersection is blocked.
After investigation, it was known that Arshad, a student who died in the road accident, went for a walk in the 300 feet area with his friends on the night of May 23. There, at around 3 am, an argument broke out with an unknown truck driver. Later, in the early hours of the morning, when Arshad reached the Bangla Motor area on a motorcycle, he died in a truck accident.
The accused truck driver was arrested by the police but later released on bail.
