The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has issued parking instructions ahead of the return of BNP Chairperson and former prime minister Begum Khaleda Zia, who is scheduled to arrive in Dhaka from London at 10:30am on Tuesday after undergoing medical treatment.
According to a press release signed by DMP Deputy Commissioner (Media and Public Relations Division) Muhammad Talebur Rahman, she will travel from the airport to her residence in Dhaka’s Gulshan, reports BSS.
As a large crowd is expected to gather in the Gulshan-Banani areas to welcome her, the DMP has called for cooperation to maintain smooth traffic flow. Journalists arriving at the airport have been asked to use the airport’s multi-storey car park, while vehicles of guests coming to welcome her should be parked in the vacant area of Swadesh Properties near the 300 feet road.
In Gulshan, journalists have been requested to keep their vehicles in a single lane around the road surrounding Gulshan Society Park, and guests' vehicles should be parked in one lane around Justice Shahabuddin Park.
The DMP has strictly instructed that no vehicles be parked on highways or in undesignated areas, especially along the VVIP movement route, to avoid traffic disruptions.
