The 18th edition of the Bangladesh Denim Expo will be held on 12–13 May at the International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB) in Dhaka.
The two-day event aims to promote sustainable practices, innovation, and international collaboration within the denim industry.
The Expo will feature a series of educational workshops, seminars, and panel discussions offering insights into the latest trends and technologies in denim production.
Two panel discussions are scheduled during the event. The first, titled “The Growth of the Bangladesh Denim Industry Through the Perspective of Denim Washing,” will take place on 12 May from 4:30pm to 5:30pm. The second, “Stretch-ability of Bangladesh Denim Traceability,” will be held on 13 May during the same time slot.
Among the featured speakers are Abdus Samad, director of Well of Washing; Arief Labu, co-founder and creative director of Ruhrose RBT Ltd; Julie Davies, general manager for Processing Innovation at The Woolmark Company; Kamal Uddin Mia, chief operating officer (Washing) at Bitopi Group; Marco Volpi, head of sales (Europe and Africa) at Bluesign Technologies AG; Md Forhad Hossain, owner of Pure Chemicals; Raquib Imtiaz, business manager at LC Waikiki; Reza E Rabbi, head of operations at Vertex Wear Ltd; and Shohel Rana, CEO of Designer Fashion Ltd and Designer Wash Ltd.
Mostafiz Uddin, founder and CEO of Bangladesh Apparel Exchange, said the event provides a unique platform for both local and global stakeholders.
“The Bangladesh Denim Expo is not only showcasing local talent—it’s a hub for international partnerships. Global brands come here to collaborate with manufacturers, boosting both creativity and the local economy,” he said.
He added that the Expo celebrates diversity in denim design and highlights the blend of cultural and stylistic influences that define the industry.
This year’s exhibition will include participants from 14 countries, representing a wide range of denim manufacturers, chemical suppliers, textile producers, and technology providers.
