The Traffic Division of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has filed 3,165 cases against motor vehicles, its owners and drivers for violating traffic rules across the capital, reports BSS.
A media release of the DMP on Wednesday said that they filed those cases and realized the money from April 28 to April 29 through their regular drives against the traffic rule breakers.
A total of 392 motor vehicles were dumped and 198 vehicles were towed due to poor driving practices, said Talebur Rahman, deputy commissioner (Media and Public Relations Division) of the DMP.
"The drives will continue to ensure discipline on the city streets," the release said, adding that the DMP has been working to bring the traffic system under smooth in the capital for giving city dwellers easy movement.
