Polytechnic students have started their scheduled grand rally in the capital, protesting recent attacks on their fellows and to realise their six-point demand.
The rally, organised under the banner of Karigori Chhatra Andolon Bangladesh, began around 12:00 pm in front of the Dhaka Mohila Polytechnic Institute in Agargaon.
Earlier in the morning, students from various public and private polytechnic institutes gathered in front of Dhaka Polytechnic Institute. Around 11:00 am, they brought out a protest procession from the venue.
The procession ended at Agargaon and joined the grand rally in front of the Dhaka Mohila Polytechnic Institute.
The announcement was made yesterday during a human chain organised in front of Dhaka Polytechnic Institute.
Today's rally comes a day after students staged a "Rise in Red" programme where they wrapped red cloths around their campuses as a form of symbolic protest.
